# How the API Genie ↔ Apport WMS integration works
1. Connect Apport WMS to API Genie
API Genie connects to Apport’s open API using a service user and API credentials. Webhooks from Apport can be pointed at API Genie endpoints to stream changes in near real time.
2. Map Apport objects to API Genie’s canonical model
We map Apport’s internal structures (items, locations, orders, picks, shipments) to API Genie’s standardized objects such as orders, products, shipments etc.
3. Define flows between systems
Use API Genie to route data between Apport WMS and your ERP, webshops, marketplaces, transport/TA/TMS, and other systems.
4. Sync and orchestrate events
Inbound: sales orders, master data, and customers flow from ERP/e-commerce → API Genie → Apport WMS
